Backpacking and Springbreak

Christmas and Backpacking 011  Christmas and Backpacking 013

For spring break we went all over the place. Landon had an interview at Northern Arizona University on Saturday so we left on Friday and drove down there. After looking at the town we were surprised at how expensive everything was. We called on a couple of houses and one was $450,000 for a little two bedroom place. Landon did get accepted there but we will have to think more about it. We then went to Mesa Arizona to stay with Lindens’ mission trainer mike Romney and his wife Whitney. We were there for a few days and landon went out for a little bit to try and sell security systems. Finally we went up to Escalante Utah and went backpacking with landons dad and brother. It was way cold at night but we had a good time. It was nice just to have a break from things, and we crossed an item off Rich’s bucket list.

This was our first campsite with our little two man tent.

Skyler, Landon, and Lucy the first morning

This rock looked like a giant head and Lucy is more than willing to help clean its nose out.

Everything takes longer, first you have to purify the water, then cook one thing at a time, and finally eat.

We hiked along the bottom of a canyon in a river bed

Here is our tiny tent. You could barely sit up but we were definitely cozy

The rocks were lots of fun to climb up and play in.

Rich was hard to keep up with and had a lot of knowledge that made things easier the whole trip.

Here we are with our backpacks on ready to come out.

The view from the top of the canyon was amazing.

  3. I love road trips! That trip sounded like so much fun. A bunch of people went camping out here and Aaron was very adament that we would not ever go out here, that it would just ruin camping for him. Because it wouldn't even compare to camping in Utah at all! Whatever... That's funny about the post thing, aaron would totally do the same thing, IF he ever got on our blog. Cute pics, miss ya!
